The South African Geriatrics Society

SAGS aims to spread awareness in the field of geriatrics through teachings, conferences, newsletters, services and research. The organisation operates as a body of expertise and advises government, organisations and institutions on all matters concerning geriatrics and the care of the elderly.

Their areas of interest involve postgraduate and undergraduate education and training, medical education, advocacy on the rights of the elderly and education and training in geriatric medicine.

Who can join?

Members should be registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA), and their professions or practices should be confined to geriatric medicine.
